At what point am I saved (from sin)?

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

John 3:3
In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." v6 "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit."

Luke 13:1-3
"Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you no! But unless you repent you too will all perish."

Acts 3:19
"...Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (To repent is to acknowledge you have done wrong against God and to change your behaviour to do right according to God from now on)

  1. Hi GD,
'Born again' is to be reborn in spirit, its like a new awareness of who you are in relation to God. It brings with it a freedom from certain ways of thinking which hold us back from experiencing life to the full. It also comes with a desire to share this new joy you have found with others. When you first believe, its like everything has changed even though the rest of the world is still the same. But you are entirely different because you have a knowledge you didn't have before. A little like in the movie, The Matrix. There is another reality all around us but only a few people actually seek it and find it and live in it. You have to decide on your journey toward faith whether you will take 'the blue pill' or the 'red pill'. Will you dare to find out your spiritual origin, purpose and destiny. Or do you want to go on living the way you have always lived and wake up ignorant of the 'real world' that 'other truth' out there which could answer all the questions you have about life but also change your life forever. Because once you know God like a Father and friend, and realise what He has done for you, your life will never be the same again.
