“What is the ultimate goal of Christianity?” (=Goal of God)

John 6:28-29
"...Then they asked him, ‘What must we do to do the works God requires?’ Jesus answered, ‘The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.’ "

1 Timothy 2:3
"...This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."

2 Peter 3:9
"...The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. V 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation..."

St Paul
1 Corinthians 10:33
"...even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of the many, so that they may be saved."

John 3:16-19
"...For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. .."

"I can’t do that!"

2 Corinthians 3:5
"...Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God."

2 Corinthians 3:12
"...Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold."

2 Timothy 1:7
"...for God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."

"Why share your faith?

Romans 10:14
"...How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? "

2 Corinthians 5:18-21
"...All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

Romans 1:16
"...I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."

2 Corinthians 3:3
"...You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts."

2 Corinthians 5:14-15
"...For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again."

Philemon 1:6
"... I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ."

2 Timothy 4:2
"...Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction."

"I’m not sure..."

2 Corinthians 6:1,2
"...As God’s fellow-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.
...I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation."

"What's more important: faith or deeds?"

James 2:19-22
"...You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that and shudder. You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the alter? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. V24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone."

Luke 6:46 (Jesus)... “Why do you call me ‘Lord Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

“What must a Christian do?”

2 Corinthians 10:5
"...We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Luke 6:31
"...Do to others as you would have them do to you.
v 38 For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Luke 8:21 (Jesus)
"...He replied, ‘My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.’ "

Hebrews 13:15-16
"...Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifice God is pleased."

John 13:12 (Jesus)
... ‘I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.’

John 14:15 (Jesus)
... ‘If you love me you will obey what I command.’
v21 ‘Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me.’

John 15:16-17 (Jesus)
"... ‘You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other."

Hebrews 10:24
"...And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching."

Luke 9:23-24
"...Then he said to them all: ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?’ "

Philippians 2:3
"...but in humility consider others better than yourselves."

"Isn't the bible just a book of stories written by man?"

Galations 1:11-12 (Paul)
"...I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ."

Galations 1:20 (Paul)
"...I assure you before God that what I am writing to you is no lie."

2 Peter 1:19
"...We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eye-witnesses of his majesty."

2 Peter 1:20-21
"...Above all, you must understand no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
